Happy Faces Day with Photographer Brendan Lyon

Me getting the Certificate from Paddy Clarke, IPPA President.

I photographed lots of people for Happy Faces 2010 and made the top ten photographers in the Canon Portrait Award 2010!

Here are some of the images I took this year with thanks to everyone who took part.

I photographed a few "non kids" this year, including Chef Kevin Thornton and Councillor Gerry Breen. I'm looking forward to next year and please continue to support Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Buy the 2011 calendar when it becomes available.

The Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) is delighted to announce that it has raised €55,000 as part of IPPA Happy Faces 2010,  in association with Canon, which ran from April 1st – 18th. Phase one of the campaign saw professional photographers from all around the country raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland (CFAI) by offering portraits sessions to the general public.100% of the money raised will go towards vital isolation facilities in hospitals for people living with cystic fibrosis (CF). Phase two will be launched next month, with the production of a calendar of images from the IPPA Happy Faces events, and hopes to raise a further €50,000 for CFAI.The Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) is the network for qualified professional photographers throughout Ireland, and organises "Happy Faces Day" in April each year.

Since it first launched in 2006, IPPA Happy Faces has raised almost €180,000 for its chosen charities.

Each year, the IPPA have harnessed the goodwill and the photographic skills of its members for the benefit of Irish charities, and they have selected The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland as their charity of the year for 2010.

100% of all the costs are absorbed by participating photographers to ensure that all proceeds will benefit The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland.

The IPPA wish to welcome Canon on board and thank them for their support and commitment in making this happen!

That's me on the left with my nephew, Mark holding my short listed portrait. The portrait was captured in my outdoor studio in Clontarf. I use both indoor and outdoor locations for variation. Why not give me a call and get a great portrait for yourself?

The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland provides support and assistance to people with CF and their families. There are currently 22 branches of the Association throughout the country, with approximately 1,500 members nationally.
