Wedding Photography Terms and Conditions

A booking deposit of €100 is payable at the time of booking. This deposit is non refundable other than exceptional circumstances.

All fees must be paid in full prior to the wedding.

Low resolution images are normally available for viewing within two weeks of the wedding on www.belle.ie in a private, password protected gallery. The password will be given to the bride and groom only, who may then distribute the password as they see fit. The gallery will be available for 60 days after the wedding.

The number of images on the full coverage DVD/CD depends on the number of images that are used to make the album and is approximately 75 (there may be more, there may be less) for a full day’s coverage which usually includes preparation, pre-ceremony, ceremony, post ceremony and reception. Some packages are for ceremony and post ceremony only, in which case, the number of images is lower, starting at 20. It is difficult for anyone to view more than 80 photographs of an event without losing interest and in many cases fewer photographs make for a better presentation. So please, bear in mind that sometimes, less really is more. It’s about quality, not quantity.

Images vary in subject matter and will often include background and filler shots. The style of the wedding photographs will vary from wedding to wedding. Typical coverage involves a combination of posed for images and informal images. Please give the Belle Photographer any reasonable specific requests, but please note that due to the vagaries of the weather and the willingness of subjects it may not be possible to capture all the images requested. The Belle Photographer shall be granted artistic licence in relation to the poses photographed and the locations used. The Photographer’s judgement regarding the locations/poses and number of images taken shall be deemed correct.

Limited post production is performed on the agreed number of images on the DVD/CD, where the images are checked for acceptable colour balance and brightness levels. The professional opinion of the Belle Photographer is the sole determining factor in this regard.

High Resolution images are supplied at 300 dpi, in sRGB colour profile and will print up to 8x12 inches (A4) in size.

Retouching or artistic manipulation is not carried out on any photographs. This service is available as an optional extra. Some artistic manipulation may take place on images for an album. These images are not released to the customer as part of any package. As a result of this additional album processing, there may be a difference between some of the original images with basic editing supplied on the CD and the images processed with album creation software.

Depending on the service package ordered and at the sole discretion of the Belle Photographer and where a large number of additional photographs have been taken, a small number of these images may be included in a separate area on the DVD/CD at an agreed additional cost. If these images are supplied, they are supplied as captured; there are no guarantees of quality or fitness for any purpose. Do not expect to get “loads of extra photos free”. It is more likely that these images will be very similar to the ones in the main gallery and if the Belle Photographer decides that these images would devalue the overall perception of the images they will not be offered. Some collections are limited to a certain number of images and additional images must be purchased.

Where an album has been ordered, the design is undertaken by the Belle Photographer with final approval by the couple. Any requests for changes to the design must be made within ten days of receipt of the album design. There shall be only one opportunity for change requests. The Belle Photographer reserves the right to complete the design in the event of indecision or persistent prevarication on behalf of the couple. Once final design has been approved or completed, there can be no further changes. This process will take place at the Belle Photographer’s studio or on-line at www.belle.ie.

Only photographs taken by the Belle Photographer will be included in the album.

The album is normally collected from the Belle Photographer’s studio, but delivery arrangements may be made upon request and on the understanding that the cost of the delivery is borne by the customer.

Items on quotations are not “pick and mix”. Quotations are only valid in their entirety. Each wedding is different and requirements vary as does the budget. Please discuss any issues with the Belle Photographer at the time of the quote.

A discount is available for copies of printed books, provided the order for a copy is given at the time of printing the original. While copies of wedding books may be produced at a later stage at a lower cost that the original, the best savings are to be had by ordering them all together.

Where times of events are shown, these times are approximate as delays can occur. Couples should confirm an approximate schedule of events with the Belle Photographer who will be flexible in the approach to reasonable over runs and reschedules.

Where photographic attendance is arranged for the period after commencement of the meal to cover first dance, actual cake cut and some party dance shots, the duration of this coverage is somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes unless specifically agreed otherwise.

Only the Belle Photographer is permitted to use cameras, lights or any other property owned by Belle. Guests are welcome to take photographs with their own cameras provided that they do not interfere with the Belle Photographer. Repeated interference by guests can be problematic and can interrupt the schedule of events. Guests who persist in disrupting the photographs will be asked to stop. Guests are expected to comply with reasonable requests from the Belle Photographer.

The Belle Photographer will not take photographs with cameras or other equipment belonging to guests.

In the unlikely event of any complaints, the couple should raise the issue in writing within 21 days from the date of receipt of images. In the unlikely event of an unresolved complaint the couple may request the Irish Professional Photographers Association to mediate but only on the basis that its decision shall be final and binding upon both parties.

In the unlikely event of a total photographic failure or cancellation of this contract by either party or in any other circumstance the liability of one party to the other shall be limited to the total value of the contract. Neither party shall be liable for indirect or consequential loss.

The due performance of this contract is subject to alteration or cancellation by either party owing to any cause beyond their control as in force majeure or Act of God.

Copyright of all images taken by the Belle Photographer remains with Belle at all times. The licence given with the jpegs allows the couple to distribute the jpegs freely without charge to friends and family for personal purposes only. Commercial use of the jpegs is prohibited under this licence.

I respect your wedding privacy and do not make your wedding photographs available to the public. I do reserve the right to use any of the images captured on the day in studio, web site, portfolio, literature, display areas, exhibitions, competitions, advertising or slide shows for Belle promotional purposes. I only use flattering images for obvious reasons! Most people are happy with this, but if you would prefer not to please let me know.
A note on terms and conditions
These terms and conditions are intended to manage the expectations of the couple and me, Brendan Lyon, the Belle Wedding Photographer. They exist in order to avoid any misunderstandings on the day and to resolve any disagreements. I want to be honest and up front about my terms of service. I don’t believe in deceiving my customers or over selling my coverage. I strongly believe that you should know exactly what you are getting for your hard earned money and take pleasure in providing quality emotional art.
Your wedding is a special day and it should be fun and memorable for all the right reasons. I hope that my photographs and albums will provide a treasured reminder of the romance and beautiful emotion of your special day.
Portrait & Event Photography Terms and Conditions
1. If applicable, a booking deposit is payable at the time of booking. This deposit is non refundable except in exceptional circumstances.
2. Low resolution images are normally available for viewing within one week of the shoot or event on www.belle.ie in a private, password protected gallery. The password will be given to the customer only, who may then distribute the password as they see fit. Where coverage of multiple subjects (a subject is something that is photographed such as, but not limited to, men, women, children, cats, dogs, toys, miscellaneous items) is undertaken at an event a password is not used for practical reasons.
3. Payment in full must be made at the time of order.
4. In the unlikely event of a total photographic failure or cancellation of this contract by either party or in any other circumstance the liability of one party to the other shall be limited to the total value of the contract. Neither party shall be liable for indirect or consequential loss.
5. The due performance of this contract is subject to alteration or cancellation by either party owing to any cause beyond their control as in force majeure or Act of God.
6. Copyright of all images taken by the Belle Photographer remains with Belle at all times. Digital files are not normally released to customers.

I do reserve the right to use any of the images captured at the shoot or event in all locations on the Belle web sites, portfolio, literature, display areas, exhibitions, competitions, advertising or slide shows for Belle promotional purposes. I only use flattering images for obvious reasons! Most people are happy with this, but if you would prefer not to please let me know. This applies to all photographs taken in all circumstances, locations, exhibitions, trade shows, events, in-store photography and any other conditions by Belle Photographers.

The value of gift vouchers is set against the Belle price list prevailing at the time you order and pay for your photographs.

There are no photographs included in the session fee. The session fee covers some of the time and work involved in taking the photographs.
